  • ILI training: Natural Gas Development
Natural gas is among the fastest growing contributors to global energy demand, providing affordable and cleaner alternatives to conventional fossil fuels. However, in many countries, natural gas is a very underdeveloped resource due to poor gas development and use policies; underdeveloped gas infrastructure and markets; and unsupportive legal and commercial frameworks. This advanced seminar examines issues using policy, legal and commercial lenses to provide a strategic level understanding of the natural gas value chain. Participants will receive a detailed review of the legal and commercial issues that must be resolved for successful sector development. Material is delivered through a variety of methods including: reference reading, in-class lectures, industry panels and interactive group simulations and workshops. This course can be combined with "MODERN PETROLEUM REVENUE MANAGEMENT" (APR 24-28) Course Advisors: Mrs. G. Sabahi & Mr. R. Lesnick

  • Tanzania's Legal and Regulatory Framework for Oil and Gas Seminar
Tanzania has a long history with the extractives sector. Blessed with vast mineral resources, Tanzania's mining industry has long been a critical contributor to the National Gross Domestic Product. In 1974, Tanzania discovered large natural gas reserves in Songo Songo. Only after 30 years did the Tanzanian Gov. earn its first revenues from the Gas Discovered. Recently, world class discoveries have put Tanzania on the global map. The discoveries will see increased investment in the Country with projections that the natural gas industry will be worth over several billion dollars. This will come after numerous contract negotiations and legal and regulatory angles that present an opportunity for legal practitioners to capitalize and citizens to understand. Attendants will receive certification and earn CLE points. Speakers: Dr. Eduardo G Pereira, Mr. Mwendia Nyaga, Mr. Noel B. Shiyo Dr. Adelarus Kilangi, Mr. Charles Rwechungura: Mr. Roman S.L.
